Zoroaster (also known as Zarathustra or Zarathushtra) is a major figure in the history of religion, known as the founder of Zoroastrianism. He was an Iranian prophet and religious reformer who established the worship of Ahura Mazda, the Supreme Lord of the universe. Zoroaster was born in ancient Persia and is believed to have lived between 1500 and 1000 BCE. His teachings became the basis of Zoroastrianism, one of the world's oldest organized faiths. He gained both enemies and followers during his lifetime, and his name is mentioned in classical writings as the founder of the religion of the Magi.
