William Optics Corp. was founded in 1996 by brothers William and David Yang, who started the company as "Optical Technology Limited" with the goal of manufacturing astronomical telescopes. In 2000, William Optics USA was established to directly serve the American market. The company experienced significant growth in 2005 and has become a leading provider of high-quality telescopes and accessories at an affordable price. Despite its relatively short time in the industry, William Optics has established itself and is continuing to innovate, with a new patented design for their Apochromatic Series and the recent introduction of the William Optics RedCat 61, which features an internal focuser. This successful company has its roots in a small jewelry store opened in 1826 by William Beecher, who had a passion for invention.
