The Jordanian Badia contains the most important groundwater and surface water basins in the kingdom, including the Azraq basin. The Azraq basin is one of the important groundwater basins in the Jordanian Badia. It is also home to water purification stations and activated sludge, including the Aljinoun purification station and the Tel Almandih purification station. The surface water basins in Jordan are divided into fifteen different basins, varying in size and annual precipitation. Among these basins is the Disi Basin, which is part of a sub-system responsible for pumping water in Jordan. The surface water basins also include rivers, springs, and seasonal streams, as well as dams and reservoirs such as the Yarmouk River, Wadi Sayl, and Sil. These basins are divided into two types: renewable basins, which are replenished annually by rainfall, and non-renewable basins, which are not replenished. The Jordanian Badia is home to many of these surface water basins, including one of the most important basins in the south of Jordan, which covers an area of 89322 square kilometers and is considered vital for Jordan's water supply.
